Editorial policy
Fresh Weekly Briefing aims to make public affairs understandable without blurring fact, interpretation and uncertainty. Our editorial choices are guided by accuracy, clarity and an honest account of what a piece does and does not establish.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against appropriate sources and take care with names, dates, quotations and descriptions of institutional roles. We distinguish established information from analysis or opinion, explain important terms and avoid presenting an allegation or proposal as a settled outcome. If evidence is incomplete or accounts differ, we say so.
Independence
Editorial decisions belong to the publication. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions, and partners do not receive control over independent editorial coverage. Where a relationship could reasonably affect how a reader understands a piece, we disclose it clearly.
Corrections
If we identify a factual error, we correct it promptly and make significant corrections visible alongside the relevant material. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page, explaining the passage at issue and, where possible, providing a reliable source. We review the claim rather than promising a particular outcome.
Partner material
Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Labels appear with the material, not hidden in general page wording. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or a particular editorial conclusion.
