Write for us
Fresh Weekly Briefing welcomes pitches that make a public-affairs subject clearer by explaining its structures, choices or connections. We are interested in focused, original work for readers who may be new to the topic but want more than a headline.
What makes a strong pitch
Propose one clear question or idea, explain why it matters to a general reader and sketch the approach you would take. Useful pitches define the scope, identify the context the reader needs and show how the piece will separate fact from interpretation. Avoid claims that depend on unsupported certainty or a list of loosely connected topics.
The work we welcome
We consider explanatory essays, comparisons, histories of institutions and ideas, and carefully framed analysis of public debate or international connections. Submissions should be original, clearly written and grounded in checkable information. Do not include confidential material, invented sources or work that offers professional legal, medical or investment advice.
Send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a note about any relevant sources or potential conflicts. Please send a pitch rather than a complete unsolicited manuscript; an enquiry does not guarantee publication.
